Dr. Shafie received his certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Prosthodontics from Boston University Goldman School of Dental Medicine. He is the founder of the Center for Oral Implantology at the Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, MD, where he has trained many dentists in different aspects of implant dentistry. Dr. Shafie currently is the president of the American Institute of Esthetic and Implant Dentistry in Washington, DC. He is a faculty member of the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at Washington Hospital Center where he teaches postgraduate implantology courses. In addition, Dr. Shafie is the author of a book on Implant Supported Overdentures which is under print production by the Blackwell Munksgaurds. Dr. Shafie lectures nationally and internationally about innovative aspects of implant dentistry and is renowned for his unique way of making dentistry fun to learn for both specialists and general dentists.
